This template is rather straightforward. However, I always tend to tune into blogs which are well -written, rather than have jazzy templates. I'd rather have the "gift" without the fussy wrapping:)
I agree that only the shallow would judge a blog based on the template (and not the content, including the archives) I have often wondered if this colour stinks. But, then again, most Blogger templates are iffy at best.
I think you should at least change the color, it is too diahrea yellow /brown and it hurts my eyes. I tend to read dark blogs and although I do tend to skip past blogs that hurt my eyes.
I have many of my blogs on my yahoo so I read them from there as well so it does not always matter but sometimes I enjoy looking at the blogs.

oh, you...your template is fine...no one's coming to your blog to gaze lovingly at your template...i agree with nuggetmaven...

As others said, it's the content, not the look that matters, but if you feel the need for change, you could just change the colors.
