HCT

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving. I wish our Thanksgiving was the same as the American one, because right after Halloween, we Canadians are inundated with Christmas advertising. I could be wrong, but I seem to recall that Christmas advertising in the USA doesn't really get going until after Thanksgiving. Maybe that's not true anymore?

They typically wait until after Thanksgiving to bring out the Christmas stuff in full force, but since Thanksgiving isn't a big product seller we get some Christmas stuff out right after Halloween. At least that's how it is in my lovely state. I've never been anywhere else during the holidays.

Are you kidding. Hallmark starts bringing out the Christmas ornaments in July! Target, Walmart, Home Depot et al started stocking Christmas stuff right after the back to school stuff was pulled in Sep. The do NO wait till after Thanksgiving in the US since its only 4 weeks from then until Christmas.

I hate to tell you this, but the Christmas stuff is already in the stores. They'll probably crank it up full force after Hallowe'en, but it's already there.

I almost fainted two weeks ago in the local Canadian Tire store that has all their stuff out.

My brother took me to Costco on Saturday. It made me feel sick to go into such a big box store. Then I saw the Christmas trees up and decorated. Ick.

The weird thing is that Christmas trees are the only thing I like about that holiday since I'm not christian.

Other than that, my Thanksgiving was good - I cooked my first turkey!

i haven't seen any xmas stuff yet, but in nyc it pretty much starts right after halloween.

though there *is* a guy who plays jingle bells on his piano every afternoon outside my office window, but that may be because he knows like 3 songs. (don't ask me how he got a piano out there.)
