A (brief) conversation with my Six-year-old Daughter

Daughter: Most grandmas tend to be Portuguese.

Me: Is your grandma Portuguese?

Daughter: No...well, if I had another grandma, maybe she would be Portuguese.

That is truly the funniest thing I have heard today.
I feel a bit sad that neither of my Grandmas are Portugese.

That's so cute!!

At the time my hubby was born, every 4th child born in the world was Chinese. Since he's the 4th child, he's always thought he was Chinese. ;)

My sister is part of Big Sister Little Sister, and her "little sister" told her she's, "50% Puerto Rican, 25% Chinese and 25% Irish."

When my sister told her that she's 100% Chinese, the girl looked at her carefully and said.

"Well, if you're 100% Chinese, then what percent Puerto Rican does that make you?"

I was going to comment on this earlier, but forgot. I read this and thought, "weird!" When I was little I always thought that any foreign language was Portuguese. I have to admit that this thought usually came after watching the Miss Universe pageant -- where I thought that all the contestants must be Portuguese, whether they were Indian, Columbian or French.

I'm not sure I should have admitted all that, but it's true. It was a looong time ago, after all.

Fascinating. It kind of makes you wonder what other kids are thinking about.
