Another Conversation with my Daughter

Upon noticing a white shirt hanging in the closet, my daughter (age 6) said:

Daughter: You have a white shirt?

Me: Yeah.

Daughter: But you never ever wear white!

Me: Well, sometimes, one needs a white shirt. But you are right, I usually avoid white.

Daughter: Only dads that are 30 wear white. Really young dads.

OH NO!

Then again, your daughter thinks that people at 30 are young? I think that's an achievement in the world of parenting! :)

My husband is turning 30 this year. I'll tell him that your daughter thinks that that's young. I can picture the conversation now:

Me:Zydeco Fish's daughter thinks that 30 is young.
Hubby: Who Fish?
Me: He has a blog that I read, anyway that's not the point. The point is his daughter thinks you're young.
Hubby: Ah. Is she hot?
Me: She's six.
Hubby: So why do I care that she thinks I'm young?
Me: I thought you wanted to be young. I thought you were lamenting your lost youth.
Hubby: you're using big words again.

On second thought, maybe I'll just keep it to myself

SHJ: that is hilarious. I agree with maia, though. It's amazing that she thinks that 30 is young. Teenagers would not consider 30 to be young. It's fascinating, really.
