Another Question

A recent post by Meliors prompted me to ask this:

1) Do your parents (brothers, sisters, grand parents, aunts, uncles, etc.) read your blog? For the parents out there, do you read your children's blog?
2) If so, are you reading it secretly?

P.S. Happy birthday to my daughter (she's too young to read this).

Aw, happy birthday to her.

My family is largely and painfully uninterested in my life, so no. They'd only read it if they thought they could use it as ammunition.

Nobody in my family knows I have a blog and if they do they havent said anything and I prefer to keep it that way because they'd only have snide remarks about it.

I beg my husband to read it but he refuses to read it. =0(

My Mom does. Especially when she's away and wanting to find out what's going on with me. I found this out because she once said to me "How come you never blogged while I was in Sudbury?" I don't mind because, imo, anything that you publish on the internet should be for EVERYONE to read. Also my fiancé reads it SOMETIMES, but not so much now, because I no longer report to him every time I blog.

The majority of my family don't read my blog, but my boyfriend does.
Sadly enough, so do a lot of our friends and other people I know IRL (in real life) and now I find myself editing myself on occasion.

My parents refuse to have a computer. My daughter and I always read each other's blogs. I've sent links to my blog to other family members and friends, but my cousin is the only one to admit that she's read it.

My daughter (aged 37) reads my blog and will occasionally let my nine year old grandson read it. She checks it for language...

I have invited my parents to read my blog, I don't know that they do, though. My husband does and my children do. Needless to say, my blog is rated G

Everybody in my family knows about it, but most of them don't read it. I think I bore them. My 19-year-old daughter reads it, though, as do many of her friends. Go figure!

My sister knows about my blog, but I don't think she's read it in a whle (otherwise she'd be giving me crap about starting to smoke again).

My parents don't know and I have no intention of telling them about it.

My mom reads it. "Secretly," I think. She'll never comment or acknowledge that she reads it, but she'll suddenly ask weird questions over the phone...

Happy birthday to the kiddo!

My brother and mother-in-law and wife all read mine.

It would be scary if my Mum read my blog.

My sister and sister-in-law know about my blog, so I can never write anything about them now!! Check out my photos!

Absolutely not. Originally even my friends didn't read it as I have a dead journal I have had since high school to which I post things for them to read. There is no reason on earth for them to ever read it either.

They all know about it but I'm not sure whether they read it. If they do, they don't comment. One of our older children read it the other day and I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Sorry about the double post. Computer issues.

Hmm, I can't decide whether I feel more or less of a freak for having parents who follow my blog obsessively. But if I found out my daughter blogged I know I would be checking it out. And even though I didn't want the olds to know about my blog, I knew that they (and potential future employers, lovers, landlords etc) could/would eventually find out and so have kept that in mind from the start... hence no major bitching or personal revelations that might come back to haunt me. I sometimes imagine having a secret, anonymous blog where I can be really really naughty but who would read it?

I would read it.

would you be scared to learn that your wife's cousin is reading your blog?

zydeco fish said...

That would depend on which cousin it was :-)
